The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools by the Government to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. Funding is based on children registered for Free School Meals (FSM) at any point over the last 6 years or children who have been looked after for 6 months or longer (CLA). The money is paid to schools according to the numbers of children who are in receipt of FSM or who are CLA.
