A Royal Lunch Party to celebrate a special wedding at the weekend

The children enjoyed an outside picnic style lunch yesterday eating a selection of sandwiches, crisps and sausage rolls. finishing off with strawberry cakes for dessert. The children got dressed up for the occasion wearing royal crowns and waving Union flags. Even the Queen put in an appearance! Katrina Harkin Class 1 teacher

Children from Reception to Year 5 learn to bake.

Children from Reception to Year 5 had the opportunity to bake together today. Reception children made chocolate nests from cornflakes and maltesers. They melted the chocolate and then mixed in the cornflakes.  Once the mixture had begun to set they placed maltesers on top to represent the eggs in the nest.  They learnt about melting and cooling as well as enjoying a delicious treat! Year 1 to 5 children independently made chocolate chip cookies. They had to weigh out each ingredient and follow the instructions carefully. Team leaders from Year 4 led each group very well.
